Chapter 2: Performance Management

The real productivity killer in most networks is a performance level that doesn’t meet the needs of users. When network performance is consistently below acceptable levels, business cannot operate at full efficiency, workers can’t accomplish tasks on time, and the regular movement of business suffers. To exacerbate this situation, smoking out performance issues on a network is virtually impossible without the proper toolset. If you’ve ever gotten the dreaded phone call letting you know that the network is slow, you know how difficult it can be to track down the problem. Chapter 2 will discuss the tools that can prepare you for when that call comes and how to fix it.
